WATER BALANCE CONTROL
Modern rainwater management with the water balance control
The water balance control system combines retention roofs with underground storage areas in order to distribute and use rainwater sustainably.
The precipitation that falls on the property is collected in a targeted manner - both on the green roof and pre-cleaned from other areas in the cistern. An intelligently controlled system of pumps and valves distributes the stored water according to an ecologically sensible target water balance: the water is directed onto the green roof to supply the vegetation and evaporation, released into a trench for infiltration or discharged into the sewage system at a reduced rate. The storage areas, which are intended for flood protection, can also be used for permanent water storage thanks to the intelligent control system. This enables sustainable irrigation with rainwater, reduces the load on the sewage system and compensates for the sealing of surfaces. In this way, the system actively contributes to the preservation of the natural water cycle and makes an important contribution to climate-adapted urban development.

System components

The Retention roof flow control is a green roof solution for decentralized rainwater management.

The Optigrün Smart Flow Control is an intelligently controlled throttle that is installed above the roof drain of retention roofs.

The Optigrün Water measuring shaft WMS 54 measures the water level in the drainage level of the retention roof. The integrated communication technology transmits the data directly to the server, where it is processed and used to control the system.

The Optigrün Water inlet shaft WES 40 is used to feed water into the drainage level of a green retention roof with water retention boxes.

Controllable valves are used to implement the various water balance control functions.

RigoCollect is a compact and versatile cistern. Thanks to the modular design consisting of storage blocks, systems can be realized in individual sizes and geometries. The QuadroLift pump chamber can be fully integrated.
