The intelligent Smart Flow Control drainage throttle enables precise control of water runoff on retention roofs based on the current weather forecast. In the basic state, precipitation is accumulated in the water retention boxes. The water level is constantly monitored and compared with the weather forecast. Only if an expected rain event requires more storage volume than is currently available is a controlled discharge carried out. Before the rain starts, the throttle is closed again and the required storage volume is available. Weather forecast-based control enables optimum use of the available water volume for watering vegetation and a high evaporation rate. At the same time, the technology ensures reliable flood protection and compliance with discharge restrictions.

Storage
Double use of the storage volume in the water retention boxes for flood protection and permanent storage of rainwater. Available water is transported into the substrate through nonwovens with capillary action and used for sustainable irrigation of the green roof.
Evaporation
High evaporation performance due to good water availability - cooling the environment and contributing to solving the heat problem in cities and adapting to climate change.
Runoff regulation
Automatically controlled water runoff depending on the weather forecast ensures maximum flood protection, takes discharge restrictions into account and relieves the burden on the sewage system.
