Substrates
Our substrates for green roofs are optimally matched to our system structures and thus guarantee the long-term functionality of the green roof system. All substrates comply with the FLL green roof guidelines, ÖNORM L 1131 in Austria and the Fertilizer Ordinance. Questions about substrates can be answered by our colleagues in the application technology department. We have compiled specialist information on the subject of substrates for you here.
Delivery forms for substrates
- Loose fill
- Big bag (1,0 - 2,0 m³)
- Blown in silo truck
- Bagged goods in 25 and 40 liter bags
Base substrates
Basic substrates are used for classic extensive and intensive greening and are available as light and heavy substrates. Light and heavy substrates differ in their appearance, the various additives and their weight. The light substrates contain light aggregates such as expanded shale and expanded clay, while heavy substrates contain heavy components such as lava or brick chippings.
Extensive Multi Layer Substrate E-heavy
Optigrün Extensive Multi Layer Substrate E-heavy is used as a vegetation substrate for extensive green roofs with a multi-layered build-up, for pitched roofs with roof pitch > 5° and for roofs with high load capacity/reserve; suitable for a broad plant species diversity.
Supplementary substrates
Supplementary substrates are used for green roofs with special requirements. These substrates supplement the basic substrates with regard to special requirements, such as lawns with and without trafficability and light extensive construction. The respective suitability should be agreed with our application technology department.
Special substrates
Special substrates are used for green roofs with special requirements. Their product properties make these substrates absolute specialists that are only used in special installation situations and thus complete our substrate range.
Intensive/Extensive Single Layer Substrate Optilith
Optigrün Intensive/Extensive Single Layer Substrate Optilith is used as a drainage and vegetation substrate on intensive and extensive single-layered green roofs; used for accumulation of excess water in a cistern with enhanced water purity requirements.
