WATER BALANCE CONTROL
Modern rainwater management with water balance control
Heatwaves and heavy rainfall are among the most obvious and tangible effects of climate change and are increasingly becoming a global problem. While heatwaves are characterized by extremely high temperatures over an extended period of time, heavy rainfall refers to intense precipitation events that occur within a short period of time and often lead to flooding. Both phenomena occur with increasing frequency and intensity and have far-reaching impacts on the environment, human health, agriculture and infrastructure. One of the most promising ways to combat water scarcity is to store excess rainwater during the wet winter months. This stored water can then be used during the dry summer months to mitigate the effects of prolonged drought. Our solution aims to ensure the availability of rainwater throughout the year through the construction of structural and civil engineering water storage facilities and the application of intelligent control.
We use existing retention areas in the form of water retention boxes or infiltration trenches to store rainwater. We control these flood protection reservoirs intelligently on the basis of weather forecasts so that the full volume is available for flood protection before the rain event if required.

System components
The Retention roof flow control is a green roof solution for decentralized rainwater management.
The Optigrün Smart Flow Control is an intelligently controlled throttle that is installed above the roof drain of retention roofs.
The Optigrün Water measuring shaft WMS 54 measures the water level in the drainage level of the retention roof. The integrated communication technology transmits the data directly to the server, where it is processed and used to control the system.
The Optigrün Water inlet shaft WES 40 is used to feed water into the drainage level of a green retention roof with water retention boxes.
Controllable valves are used to implement the various water balance control functions.
RigoCollect is a compact and versatile cistern. Thanks to the modular design consisting of storage blocks, systems can be realized in individual sizes and geometries. The QuadroLift pump chamber can be fully integrated.
